I was born into creativity; into a family-owned sign business started by my grandfather in 1936. Being that child labor laws don't really cover nepotism, my father made certain that, at even a tender age, I had the opportunity to wear many hats in our family's company. For me, design and marketing always seemed to fit the best.
Since college, I've added a few more hats to my collaction, including: graphic designer, website developer, photographer, videographer, project manager, sales trainer, marketing manager, and creative director. In 2009, I started street-walking my mixed media services to companies in need of design and marketing support.
Hiring a third party resource is a wonderful way to increase your team's capabilities without adding the overhead of another employee. You still reach your goals on time, and everyone in your office gets to focus on what they do best. My contribution varies from project to project. Sometimes, I'm on the Bridge firing photon torpedoes from the Captain's chair; at other times I'm fixing warp cores with Scotty in Engineering. Either way, team collaboration is the key to all great creative exploration. Together, we can accomplish more by combining the talents of your existing crew with the services of outside support.
